Welcome to the homepage of MC2. The Midwest Conference on Missionary Care is an annual event co-sponsored by Minnesota Renewal Center, Barnabas International and Transform Minnesota (formerly the Greater Minnesota Association of Evangelicals).
The aim of MC2 is to inform, inspire and educate the church – including laity, pastors, leaders, mission coordinators and mission committee members – in providing effective care to their overseas missionaries and missionary families. The event is held every February in local Twin Cities area churches. Attendees have come from around the upper Midwest and throughout the country. Speakers and workshop leaders include local church leaders, national mission leaders and missionary care professionals.

2013 Conference
Our 7th annual conference will be held on February 22-23, 2013 at New Life Church in the St. Paul suburb of Woodbury, MN. The theme for 2013 is 21st Century Care: Engaging Change and Challenge. The MC2 conference provides a broad base of practical workshops that will inspire and equip you to provide holistic missionary care. For 2013, well into this new millennium, we want to take a specific look at the next generation God is recruiting to missions. God is doing something new; the face of missions is changing. Changes and challenges require shifts in our approaches to missionary care. What is the worldview particular to the newest generations entering the missions force? How can our care help millennials (those born since 1980) and other generations work together to accomplish God’s mission? How do we assist missionary caregivers in each generation? Together, we hope to address these and other challenges as we understand and embrace the changing landscape of missionary care, for the sake of the Gospel.
Our featured speakers will be Wayne Pederson, President of the HCJB Global mission and former leader of Minnesota’s KTIS radio, and Steve Sweatman, psychologist and CEO of Missionary Training International. As the leader of a front running media ministry mission and a leading mission training organization, Wayne and Steve are well-equipped to lead us in our discussions about the new changes and challenges in global missions, and the implications those changes have in missionary care.
